Regional subsidies : Walloon region
1. Improvement subsidy (frame and/or full door at minimum 50%) :
This subsidy is granted, after inspection by an accredited estimator, for any works carried out with the purpose of reducing the energy expenditure of a dwelling, for instance the replacement of windows and doors. The state of the outdoor woodwork to be replaced is not checked, regardless of whether it concerns single- or double-glazed windows or salubrious or insalubrious frames, with the exception of the door, which must be dilapidated in order to benefit from this subsidy.
Amount of the subsidy : the basic subsidy equals 20% of the amount of the invoices, exclusive of VAT, and is granted at the percentage of the quotation, exclusive of VAT, according to the income category and with an upper limit for each income category.
In order to determine the reference income :
1. Consider your family at the moment of the application (single or couple)
2. Take into account the total taxable income received in 2008 if you file your application in 2010
3. Deduct € 2,200 for each dependent child and for each handicapped person who is part of your household
4. The result is your reference income

2. Subsidy for double glazing (only replacement of frames and/or glass doors at more than 50%) :
This concerns financial support that can be obtained when carrying out works on frames and glazing with a view to improving their energy performance.
The owner has no obligation to replace all frames.
Amount of the subsidy : the subsidy is calculated per m² on the basis of the gross annual income (maximum 40 m² glazing). The amount of the subsidy is fixed at € 45 per m² of replaced woodwork or glazing. However, the amount of the subsidy can be increased depending on your income category (cf. table below). If the frame is replaced as well, the subsidy is calculated on the outer dimensions of the frame. The replacement of veranda windows or French windows only qualifies for a subsidy if the veranda already exists and is heated. The maximum subsidy granted amounts to € 10,000 per year and per building.

3. Prime de la SOWAER
Amount of the subsidy : for the residents of zone D’ in the Charleroi airport area, SOWAER proposes a fixed subsidy of either € 2783.98 or € 5615.12, depending on the zone in which the dwelling is situated. These zones are laid down in the long-term development plan and the amount of the subsidy is adjusted to the index on 13 July of each year.

The regional subsidies : Brussels-Capital Region
1. Energy subsidy (Replacement of single glazing by high-performance double glazing U? 2.0Wm2K) :
Amount of the subsidy : the basic amount of the subsidy is € 20 per m2 of glazing, for the replacement of glazing or the installation of new frames (aluminium or PVC).
It is limited to 50% of the amount of the invoice relating to the delivery and installation of the materials for which the applicant files his subsidy application. If the invoice is a global invoice, the applicant will include a detailed work/cost statement.

2. Renovation subsidy
This subsidy is granted for renovation works to the dwelling with a view to improving its liveability. A complete and detailed dossier, describing all the works that will be carried out (including the installation of new frames), must be compiled.
In order to be accepted by the “Direction du Logement” (housing authorities), the renovation works have to meet certain legal requirements, e.g. being carried out in the applicant’s main place of residence. The works must contribute to the compliance with the minimum conditions as to salubriousness and safety.
The purpose of the works must be to provide the comfort that is lacking for the proper occupancy of the dwelling, including the works aimed at eliminating circumstances that are detrimental to the comfort of the dwelling.
